I was a summer school student. Therefore I got given a range of jobs day to day. For example for the first week I went out on a clients site, whilst in my second week I was more office based.
I feel I've learnt different skills such as time management, and organisation. I've also gained confidence by meeting new people, such as other summer school students, BDO employees and clients.
I enjoy the programme due to the diversity of people and roles I'm faced on a daily basis. Some of the jobs were slightly boring but I felt it gave me a realistic insight into a career in accountancy
I felt valued by BDO, and felt welcomed by the team. For example I attended the BDO national football tournament before the program. During the program we also went out for lunch as a group.
Sometimes it felt as if there wasn't really much for me to do, which meant I was given pretty mundane tasks. Also I didn't really know what/where I was going to be during my placement until I was told the day before. However, I found this quite exciting and meant each day was never the same
I felt I was given support. For example they would always answer and questions, and often help find work for me to do. Also my counselling manager was always nearby and was very approachable and friendly.

All my travel costs are reimbursed and the program is also paid which is good considering our age.
absolutely! Before the placement I attended and played in the footfall tournament in Cardiff where every brought teams. We also went out for meals and drinks during the placement
Yes
Very approachable people. But also a large company meaning there are countless opportunities.
Remember and refer to their values!
