  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Business services/audit associate. From mainly working in the accounts preparation department my daily tasks can be varied based on the type of job I am preparing, however generally involves gathering information from the client to form financial statements for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Internally this involves interacting with the in-charge of the job and job manager about expectations and also liaising with the client on any queries we may as work progresses. I also get involved with audit work, testing various areas of an audit. This can involve working within a varied size team depending on the size of audit and also working closely with clients to request information and for those to explain their workings to us. Going forward over the next year I will have responsibilities of juniors below me, which will be a new experience to my day - to - day basis.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The training provided is really well organised, all training is booked for me and placed into my calendar throughout the year ensuring the no job overlap occurs. They are also really good at supporting you with study leave or ensuring that you are not to pressured with work around the time of exams. They also have a really positive mentor scheme, ensuring that a dedicated person is always up to speed with your training progress and giving you someone to go to with any potential queries.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Due to living slightly further from the location of work my salary doesn't always meet my costs. Also in comparison to nearby offices the salary can vary greatly which can be frustrating. However looking forward as my qualifications increase I hope this can rise to meet my costs.
