My day to day role involves pricing a variety of surfacing schemes across the North West and Yorkshire religions, attending sites across these areas and engaging in commercial talks with clients.
Obviously have developed as an Estimator during my time in the role. I have also gained confidence, independence and overall real world experience, being thrown in at the deep end from early on.
Being an important part of my team rather than just shadowing and doing little meaningful work like some apprentices end up doing.
My programme is well structured and clearly delivered to me by my employer and university.
I receive a good amount of support from my employer, as they allow me extra time to complete important university work and allow me time off to attended my CORE Skills programme.
See above**.
It will help me preform better in the long run as my programme allows me full chartership at the end of the 5 years.
All of the above. I have attended multiple of each of the above in my 2.5 years working at Tarmac.
Yes
I would recommend Tarmac as they offer well structured apprenticeships that guarantee you progress in the construction industry, and provide you with valuable experience that a degree alone could not.
Understand the role you are applying for, research the role before applying and show an interest, ask lots of questions about your desired field.
