Prior to joining Savills I had a limited understanding of the planning system, I have now gained an in-depth understanding of the planning system. I have developed a wider range of skills, which consistently evolve, relating to; planning policy evaluation, development analysis , verbal and literal communication, time management and project management.
I enjoy working at Savills, I enjoy my role and find the industry very interesting. The Town Planning Apprenticeship route has been a fun and interactive experience.
The apprenticeship is well structured, I would attend LSBU one time per week (during term time) and attend the office the remaining four. Savills understands the balance between university and work. In addition, Savills provides internal training to assist the development of the each individual.
Savills has a fantastic internal support system for completing the apprenticeship.
The lecturers at LSBU provide a good level of support. LSBU as a whole, provides a satisfactory level of support.
The Town Planning Postgraduate Diploma has actively supported my development as a Planner. Each module has contributed to my growth, with most being relevant to my role.
I contribute to the Thought Leadership Team, which produces insights on the ever-evolving planning framework. I am also a member of the Savills cricket team and was previously the London representative on the Apprenticeship Committee.
Yes
Savills is a fantastic employer, people orientated and supportive. It is evident across all levels, Savills is dedicated to building each individual to be the best they can be.
Be open to learn, Planning is a constantly evolving field. My advice, take the time to gain a level of understanding of the planning system and its framework. When applying, familiarise yourself with Savills core values. When you speak, do so with confidence, conviction and a smile.
