  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Job Title - Outsourcing Assistant. My Daily/Regular Tasks include: -Invoice processing -Making Ad Hoc payments -Credit Control -VAT Returns -Bank postings -Bank reconciliations -Sales invoice amendments -Sales invoice distributions -Filling -Fortnightly payment runs. Internally, I communicate with other members of the outsourcing department to gain information and clarity on what is going with clients that I'm working on. These communications also help me to understand the business and sector as a whole helping me with the knowledge for my day to day tasks. When it comes to external communications, I engage with our clients and contacts that are our clients have day in, day out. Some of these contact could be suppliers that our clients use where as others are customers. We can even be contacted by other firm that are conducting services for our clients for example, a firm which may be looking at the AP practices of our client.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I've taken part in the New UK GAAP training for FRS102 which are going to be the new standardised procedures that all accounts must conform too and I'm also currently studying towards my Level 3 AAT.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the fact that I'm able to apply what I learn in my studied straight to my job. Every day you spend in a class room give =s you that little extra bit of clarity in your day to day role working on accounts.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Mazars LLP?
  • I feel like I'm a valued member of the team as you're praised by he management team for the hard work and effort you put in to each clients accounts.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that you're giving a lot of positive support during your training whilst also being given a sufficient amount of time to revise for your studies. As for the structure of the course, I wouldn't make many if any changes.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We have weekly collage classes along with the opportunity to take revision courses before any exam. The tutor is always willing to stay and work with you as long as you're willing to put in the work.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • After every exam, we have a meeting with our team managers to talk about how we feel the exam went, where we can improve on things and whether we passed or failed.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Living costs these days are only increasing but the salary package I receive does just about cover my monthly costs but it could be improved.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Our company is tied in with a lot of external events such as the Chelsea foundations youngster workshops for troubled kids. This give kids who may not think much of them selves a chance to find something that their good at and exploit unknown talents in a day of activities that are based around the thoughts of becoming entrepreneur's. This is a great opportunity to get to see the helping side of the business.

  • I enjoy working here and feel incredibly supported in gaining qualifications for the future so I feel like others would too.
