AGCN Account Transition Manager Review

I work as an Account Transition Manager in the Global inwards team as part of Aon's Global Client Network. My Job is to provide introductory service to Global clients who require local insurance in the UK, this includes placing insurances, transferring business to Aon's preferred markets, co-ordination with Aon offices around the world and day to day servicing of the client's insurance needs.

I have learnt how to effectively work as part of a team (both with my immediate Global Inwards team and with Aon office around the world).

I enjoy both my day to day job and Apprenticeship programme. Although the two are mostly separate there are transferrable skills, for example the experience I gain in my Job helps me to understand the theory needed in my exams. Also my manager is very supportive and allows me to take time out of my working day to focus on Apprenticeship tasks.

I feel valued by Aon as they reward their employee's hard work. Aon have reward schemes and acknowledge my achievements.

My programme seems very well thought out. I go to revision classes once a month and complete set tasks and coursework in between sessions. My exams are spread out nicely so that i have adequate time to revise etc.

My Training Provider is always available via email/ phone should I require her help. I also have monthly calls with another my other trainer whom I am completing another element of the apprenticeship with. He is also available for me to contact whenever I require.

My Manager is very supportive and allows me to take time out of work to go to Apprenticeship events and complete coursework.

My Salary meets my costs as i still live at home and so have few expenses.

There are many opportunities to attend events. Apprentices are highly valued within the business and so are often offered many opportunities first.

The company is good to work for, they reward hard work. There are many opportunities to move and grow as there are so many different job roles within the company.

Try and stand out from others- for example by having experience within financial services. It's not all about insurance knowledge, don't memorise Wikipedia! Broking is all about relationships (with clients and insurers) and so it is important that you are personable.
