  • My programme at Willis comprises six rotations, each lasting four months, over a span of two years. These rotations cover a variety of roles, including broking, sales, and client servicing. The aim is to provide me with extensive exposure to the diverse functions within Willis and a comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry as a whole.

  • I have acquired numerous new skills and enhanced existing ones through both practical on-the-job learning and formal education, particularly through the ACII qualification, which is a core component of the programme. Among the new skills I have developed is a solid understanding of the functioning of the insurance market, with a specific focus on the London market.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have been very impressed with the programme at Willis. I have been given significant responsibility and ample opportunities to thrive and challenge myself, which I believe is essential for any apprenticeship programme. Although managing the ACII qualification alongside full-time work can be demanding, it has been invaluable in solidifying the new knowledge and understanding gained through my role, and vice versa.

  • As previously mentioned, the programme is well structured into six rotations, each lasting four months. Throughout my time, there has been consistent engagement from programme leaders, along with various learning activities that form a key part of the overall programme.

  • I receive substantial support from my employer. Programme leaders and managers consistently engage with us, providing guidance and resources. Additionally, there are various learning activities and opportunities for professional development, ensuring that we have the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in our roles.

  • I receive a reasonable amount of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They offer various resources and guidance to assist with my studies, ensuring that I have the necessary tools to progress.

  • The ACII qualification provided by my training provider significantly enhances my performance in my role. It deepens my understanding of industry principles and practices, which I can directly apply to my daily tasks, thereby improving my effectiveness and contributing to my professional growth.

  • There are numerous extra-curricular activities at Willis, including various inclusion networks. We also engage in activities within the wider insurance market, such as sports teams and networking events. I have participated in both internal and external networking opportunities and have attended a range of external conferences and events.

  • Yes

  • For those applying to WTW, I recommend thoroughly researching the company and understanding its core values and business areas. Focus on your past experience and the soft skills that you have and how it applies to insurance broking.
