I am a sales supervisor, I have to supervise some members of the team and look over daily sales. I help with ordering, sales processes, looking after managed service customers and call outs to ledger customers to try and win new business.
I have learnt about emotional intelligence and more about ED&I. There was also some good parts of the apprenticeship that looked at retrofit and project management tools.
It was initially a bit daunting as there was not a lot of time to complete it due to staff shortages, however, I was given part days and fulls off for training to complete outstanding assignments. Overall, timing worked out quite well and hours of learning were made up witrh practival learning.
It was well structured, the different assignments flowed well and overall was easy to understand. It helped having a list of the standard learning outcomes and evidence required
My employer was very supportive, even when it was difficult due to staff shortages. Even the regional director supported as well.
my trainers were really supportive and when I got a bit behind with my work, helped me make an action plan on the most important parts to focus on.
It certainly does have benefis, I have noticed that I am better talking to people looking at things from their perspective.
No, not really
Yes
They are overall a decent company to work for and offer good benefits, they do support through difficult times, however that does come at a price of lower salary.
I would say be open, honest and work hard - that will give you the opportunity for progression. Travis Perkins are keen on promoting within and recognise talent.
