My role is based around dealing with material orders. For example at the moment I am managing Purchase Orders and requisitions as well as creating great relationships with suppliers, internal and external stakeholders. Occasionally I will go on site visits and attend company conferences where I will network and meet with new people within the business. During all of this I study for my course work so I can achieve the Level 3 CIPS Procurement qualification.
I have learnt how to communicate with others in the business more clearly and efficiently. I have also taught myself to have more self motivation in my work environment .
I really enjoy being apart of the Early Careers programme and also my CIPS Level 3 course as both are very helpful and great to be apart of due to the opportunities it will bring me in the future.
Both are very structured. However the Early Careers can some times be slightly unorganized with transport due to the difficult locations they hold their events. (Locations aren't very central for everyone to get to, especially for people that do not drive)
My line manager and my team members are always on onboard to help me achieve my targets. I can always rely on them if i ever get stuck or lost.
I have a monthly call with my CIPS coach. This is helpful but I believe it would be more reliable if I had them more often.

As a team we have monthly social events that are optional to attend.

Its a brilliant company to work for that will give you plenty of great opportunities in the future. During my time working for Balfour Beatty I feel more self confident and more social around people I'm not familiar with. Balfour Beatty has also taught me a lot of personal skills like: communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management and work ethic.
Expect big commitment and responsibility but also expect great opportunities come to you in the near future when all the hard work pays off.
