I am responsible for all Direct Mail and Print jobs for Toolstation; this will involve booking-in publications for print and production, briefing designs, collaboration with 3rd party suppliers and internal colleagues, arranging meetings where necessary, proofing artwork, raising/receipting POs and much more
I have developed the skills I already had whilst learning about some of the framework behind what I've always done. I have consolidated the new knowledge in the management of a project and used all learnings frequently in my day-to-day role.
I enjoy learning about the various topics covered; my tutor is very approachable and knowledgeable which is a huge bonus. I have relished the challenge of stretching my abilities and tackling certain tasks which are outside of my comfort zone.
I would say it is well structured but potentially the subjects could have been stretched over a slightly longer period.... we had lots to do over the first two-thirds and the last third has been significantly quieter, so I'd highlight that the workload isn't that well organised.
My employer overall is extremely supportive. My Manager has provided a lot of support, in terms of assisting with practical tasks, attending regular catch-ups and boosting my confidence.
My training coach has been immensely supportive. We've met regularly, both on a one-to-one basis and through Team Catch-Ups and Webinars. They were able to answer all questions I had throughout the course of the apprenticeship and gave me valuable feedback on my work.
I am hoping that all I've learnt over the last twelve months and the confidence I've gained will assist me in my daily role. I feel I could now successfully manage larger projects and have the wherewithal to challenge decisions and better organise my workload.
I will be exploring extra-curricular activities in the near future; previously I volunteered for a local VIY project and have taken part in Team Away-Days.
