Working with multiple suppliers raising purchase orders and monitoring deliveries to ensure stock meets our demands. Maintaining good supplier relations through communication and escalating any supply issues up the chain.
I've developed my IT skills through the use of SAP and Excel. Communication has gotten better, more concise and confident in my speaking. My time management skills have improved as well as attention to detail.
I enjoy the programme as I am working with suppliers all over the globe and have many different interactions on a daily basis. Working in supply can be challenging due to the many external factors so it always keeps me alert and ready
I feel like there could be more of a plan that breaks down how I am going to spend my 2 years at the company as I'm required to spend time in multiple areas of the business which I am yet to do.
When I first started I received lots of support and help from the team with weekly apprentice meetings as well as 121's with my line manager. Now I have monthly apprentice meetings and continue with 121's with my manager which is good for raising any concerns.
The lessons are online and there is a lot of self studying which works better for me. We don't attend classes in person but I have regular review calls with my assessor who supports me and makes sure I am all on track.
The CIPS course is useful and relevant to the work that I do and I can apply what I learn in my day to day work.
As an apprentice you're required to take part in CSR events such as careers events at schools, networking events etc. We have a lot of extra-curricular activities employees can get involved in.
Yes
Very supportive company who provide great opportunities to learn and develop in all areas of business can be quire daunting learning the ins and outs of a company the size of Siemens but if you show the right attitude you will thrive here.
Show a willingness to learn and don't be afraid to throw yourself in the deep end, embrace the challenges as help is never far away working here. You can develop a lot if you work hard and the company recognises this kind of thing.
