  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • liaising with the skilled trades in paint shop maintenance and shadowing them on their daily job, gradually gaining experience and being able to perform some tasks by myself while being supervised

  • i have learned lots of new skills and the maintenance engineers are happy to help and teach me as i go along. I have gained lots of skills in fault finding and how to solve the problem

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme because i am hands on with the equipment and am part of a team that is responsible for keeping the paint shop running

  • 4. How valued do you feel by JLR?
  • I feel valued by the company (my immediate managers anyway) but i have never had any involvement with anyone higher. But my managers are very supportive and want to help.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It dos have structure now im in my second year and have just been given my logbook to fill out. before there was no real structure so had to find my feet and have a go at everything

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have a meeting every 6 weeks and he is always reachable by phone or email and will help with anything and will raise problems further if required

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive good support from my managers and they will always help with any problem and are supportive and want to help me better myself.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary meets my costs very well because i am able to keep savings and can afford to pay for my car and have money left over. The salary is very good for an apprentice.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • I have not really explored this avenue very much myself so i feel i cannot really comment. There are oppourtunities but i am not really sure what these are

  • 9. Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I feel it is a very good company to work for and they give you lots of support f you neede it and you will end up with a reall good career at the end of it.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
  • To have good gcse's as well as other qualifications that make you stand out because the GCSE's are a minimum and if you can show them you have more then you can have a better chance
