  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My team are involved infrastructure changes to the HMRC estate. All of the hardware in the HMRC Offices are held in Office Designs and these must be updated if any hardware is moved/removed. My College Course has helped me further my knowledge around this role in regards to Networks which is required in Switch additions to the HMRC estate.

  • I have studied CCNA at College as part of my apprenticeship. I am looking at undertaking courses through work to further my skills.

  • The apprenticeship programme provides you with great opportunities which makes the programme enjoyable.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Fujitsu?
  • Fujitsu make you feel valued as the apprenticeship scheme is highly regarded in Fujitsu. Fujitsu are well invested in the future and have the apprentices future in their best interest

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. The mix of on the job training with the knowledge gained from studying CCNA at college works well as this allows me to utilise this knowledge in my job role.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • College provide an assessor who I meet every 4-6 weeks on a regular basis to complete units for my IT Procom Course. My teacher at college is always helpful and always wants you to gain more knowledge as it could be beneficially for the future.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Fujitsu offer great support. In my team, I had a mentor to show me the job role and this was very beneficially as they could offer advice and guidance. As part of my apprenticeship, I can have a mentor in the wider Fujitsu to help me develop to my potential and is great for networking.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Fujitsu pay all apprenticeships above the living wage and this more than allows apprentices to cover their travel to work.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Fujitsu are highly involved in CSR Events. All apprenticeships are involved in Corporate Social Responsibility meetings to help the local community through Green IT and Health & Wellbeing.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Fujitsu like to look after their employees and apprentices. Apprentices are seen as the future of Fujitsu.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • If you want a career within an IT background then Fujitsu is a great place to work, there are many opportunites within this company. If you are willing to work hard and enjoy what you are doing then Fujitsu is a good company for you.
