My role varies from each day. I look after the onboarding of staff from the interview stage up to their first day. I create contracts and look after all Apprenticeships and liaise with the local college and universities. I deal with personnel issues and grievances and disciplinaries.
I have learnt a lot in my 3 years with Hyde Group. As this was my first HR position I have been exposed to the ins and outs of HR including policies, procedures and employment law. I have improved my personnel skills and have also been introduced to Payroll.
I love my job meaning that I really enjoy the apprenticeship. I have already completed my Level 3 and really enjoyed it so being able to now complete my Level 5 with Growth Company is great. I enjoy the modules and workshops we work on and all the extra information that we learn.
The structure is very good, it works well so it's doesn't fully encroach on my workload however I still feel that I am learning and getting the most out of the course. I meet with my tutor every few weeks and couldn't ask for more support from them. We are given the workshop dates well ahead of time meaning I can plan my work around them.
My manager is a massive help, she is there when I support on my course or day to day queries. We meet with my tutor every 6 weeks together to discuss my progress and is happy to have 1:1 meetings to discuss course issues whenever I need them.
My college tutor gives me all the support I need and if they are not available I can contact their colleague who is also very helpful. Knowing that my tutor wants me to do well gives me the backing I need to succeed. We have the regular check ins and am provided with helpful learning materials to help me understand each unit.
This qualification is giving me a deeper understanding of the skills and knowledge I need to progress in my role. Helping me to become more confident in my role and providing a clear idea of best practices. In the different units I learn about scenarios that I may not have touched on in my current role so this means when that time comes I already have an awareness of it.
My company have twice yearly paid social events which gives the building an opportunity to meet up with teams they wouldn't chat to on a daily basis, this helps to boost morale. As a team we have had the opportunity to attend different events such as the CIPD Conference. There is also a football match being planned for this year.
Yes
I love working for Hyde Group and can proudly say it is the best job I have had. Having the opportunity to progress in my role is something I would be letting my friend know about. We are a large group with plenty of opportunities to move around and try different roles. The work the group produces is also extremely interesting.
Making sure you have checked out the company prior to make sure it is of interest. Making dure to learn about our company values and showing a positive attitude is key. Having the willingness to learn and improve too.
