  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am an HR Apprentice and my daily tasks vary a lot from day to day. I work in the graduate recruitment team and my main tasks involve helping out at assessment centres, observing summer internship interviews, advertising graduate job roles and summer placement job roles, and general admin. It is a very busy team and I am given the chance to carry out a wide range of tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many skills whilst carrying out my apprenticeship, especially team working skills, time management and prioritising my workload. I have also delivered a presentation in front of an audience, which has increased my levels of confidence and communication skills. I have been on an internal training course on Excel Skills and an external training course on Introduction to Property.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme as I have learnt more skills than I thought I would in such a short period of time. I have training on a regular basis, and everyone is so helpful when I have a question. I also get to attend events and meet with people from all over the business. I get on very well with my team and we all work well together.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well structured - we have training every other week without fail and receive a lot of support if we need help with anything. After our training sessions, we are then given suitable action points and study information.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • We receive a lot of support from our training provider - we have even been given an out of hour’s number to ring so that we can receive support whenever we need it, even if it is outside of work hours.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I also get a lot of support from JLL. My manager is always happy to go over my tasks and apprenticeship work with me, and the rest of my team act as mentors for me.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • My salary meets my costs as we are well paid for apprentices. We receive paid holidays, our travel is paid for and we were also given a one off clothing allowance. However, if I did not live at home I would probably struggle a little.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are many opportunities outside of work. For example, there are the JLL sports teams, company activities such as the 5K run and the Rugby 7's, you can volunteer to help out at charity events and there are also company events, for instance, I attend graduate events as I am in the graduate recruitment team.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLL?
