  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role in Marketing and Communications at JLL is varied; no day is the same. I work with different teams; such as Corporate Marketing assisting them in preparation for various events such as the JLL Property Triathlon, and help with data analysis. Day-to-day tasks include managing the triathlon email account, organising meetings and data management. I also assist the Marketing teams with ad-hoc tasks which enable me to practise my Excel and research skills when tasked with checking data.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Some of the skills that I have learnt and developed are Microsoft Excel, organisation, communication, management and analysis. Although I think that one of my biggest improvements is confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I think the programme is great! I'd only just left sixth form doing A-levels when I started and had no idea what I'd be getting myself into but after joining I know it's the best decision I could have made. I've learnt so many new things; even things so simple as how to structure my day better keep organised. In my opinion, the programme is brilliant and I'd recommend it to anyone.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by JLL?
  • I work with great people who are always very appreciative when work is completed and done well; I see this between everyone I work around at JLL. I've been told that I'm doing well and that the work I've been involved in is helping them which is always good to hear.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think that my apprenticeship is very well organised; we have a training session every couple of weeks and in between are given action points and course work by our assessor in order to complete units and stay up to date. All workshops and exam dates are planned well ahead of their dates which gives us a good amount of time to revise.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My training provider is very supportive and is always quick to help us on our work or with any questions we have; whether that is to do with course work or the programme. We use an online system to enable us to contact our assessor.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is always an opportunity to learn something new at JLL, we have inhouse training which allows us to develop and learn new skills. As for my Line Manager and colleagues, they are all very supportive, encouraging and open to helping with any queries.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Most apprenticeships unfortunately have a very low salary that don't always meet the needs of the individual but JLL exceed this. This apprenticeship salary allows for travel and living costs which some other apprenticeships do not.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Being an apprentice at JLL I am included in the Apprentice Network which means I am able to attend networking events and meet other people doing similar courses and find out how they are progressing and learn about their programme.

  • 9. Would you recommend JLL to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It's the best thing I could have done; when it came to the decision between going to university I thought about it and even looked into courses although I decided that three to four more years in education with (in my opinion) extortionate fees was not for me. Apprenticeships give people like me a chance to get a qualification and gain real work experience while earning a salary.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLL?
  • All the apprentices at JLL are doing really well so I would definitely apply!
