  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Service Management Apprentice. Currently working in the SharePoint team and I am responsibile for dealing with incidents and work orders. Have to interact with customers on the phone and face to face and get guidance from colleagues.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have undergone my ITIL foundation qualification externally and inteally have undergone a valuing people course. My communication skills have improved along with me becoming more accountable for my own learning and development.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • So far I have really enjoyed the apprenticeship. The team are very friendly and always willing to help. It has exceeded my expections as I recieve a constant work load.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Transport for London?
  • I have had a lot of recognition and appraisal from my placement manager and the apprentice manager. I have been welcomed and made apart of the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I recieved a full induction week which was benefical and sent on a sharepoint and valuing people course. I have to complete an NVQ which relies on evidence from my work experiences.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I have a mentor in which I can meet with regualrly to discuss how im finding TFL and I can meet with the apprentice manager to discuss placement and apprentice related tasks.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager conducts regualr meetings with me to ensure I am coping fine with eveything as does my mentor. The team have weekly meetings in which I am included in.

  • Yes, I have enough money to pay for living, daily and social expenses.

  • I have attended community events on behalf of TFL which have aided my learning.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great place to gain hands on experience in a working environment along with getting many business qualifications on they way.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Transport for London?
  • Research TFL's core compentices before interviewing and remain approachable and confident.
