Operations apprentice- working in supply chain functions in the busienss. I started with 4, 4 month rotations in stores, sourcing, Account coordination and New product introduction. I am now in my year placement in the quality department where I am looking at process improvement. I have got to work with many leaders in the business as well as talking to people in relevant departments to the project i am on.
I am working towards a foundation degree in Leadership capability through ACUA part of Coventry University and have completed corporate training courses in inclusive leadership and effective coaching
I enjoy the company culture and the support we get from leaders and also others on the apprenticeship scheme.
I feel very valued at GE due to the support we get from people in the departments I am in, senior leaders and also the apprenticeship leader.
Our program has a good stucture where we have time allocated to do university work in the working week which is back up by the apprenticeship lead.
We have weekly catch ups where we are able to raise any issues or answer any questions
I have an asigned mentor who i have meetings with on a regular basis to help with any problems or answer any questions
I live at home but salary covers travel costs and social costs easily
there are lots of events put on by the company which people are urged to get involved in for example GECO(GE campus olympics) and the family mega day.
