1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
My role is in the customer financial services role, which is basically credit control. Daily tasks mainly involve talking to our customers and ensuring they are paying invoices we send to them on time whilst doing small admin tasks for either new or existing customers. Daily I work with customer services here at 3M, for obtaining items like PODs (proof of deliveries) and raising credit notes for customers who receive incorrect stock etc. I also work with my colleagues in the credit control department, for help or supporting them. My responsibilities are my own set of customers, I call the same people once/twice or more a month to see if invoices have been received, dealing with any queries and seeing what they are paying us for month end.
2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I am working towards an AAT qualification at the moment, I should finish level 3 by November this year and will then head onto level 4. I have learnt many new skills from working here, from problem solving to managing my time efficiently.
3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I love my programme. I have made loads of new friends and the company is very supportive and everyone who works here is very friendly.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
The structure of my programme is very good. Our department have meetings once every month, the training was smooth and well explained, I am always supported if I need it and I go to college around twice a month. There is also no sense of hierarchy so everyone feels equal.
6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
We go to college around twice a month, but when exams come around, we are allowed to go in for an extra lesson or revision session where our tutors will help us and answer any questions that we have.
6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
My manager is the most supportive person ever! She helps me and our whole department with any queries or questions that we have.
7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
I always have money left over at the end of every month.
8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
3M have hundreds of outside activities and events outside of work, they are sent around in emails to all the employees.
9. Would you recommend 3M UK to a friend?
Because it is a brilliant company with excellent opportunities.
10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to 3M UK?
Be yourself in an interview, and if you are successful. I wish I was told to relax as I had no need to be scared about starting a new job as everyone was so welcoming!
