  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My job title is IT Financial services advisor, on a daily basis I carry out shadowing workers, completing tasks on assigned projects and working with clients. My responsibilities include ensuring the company name isn't damaged and to complete each task to the highest standard that i can.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Ive developed my presentation skills and personal skills. The programme has so far enabled me to learn about the different roles and jobs within the financial services sector. I have met lots of people and they have each given me advice on interview skills and how to engage formally within emails.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I've met some very interesting and helpful people within the company and the other interns on the programme have become very good friends. There are social opportunities after work and this gives us chance to meet new people and network in a fun environment

  • 4. How valued do you feel by EY?
  • I feel very valued and as though I am needed and they put effort into improving me as an employee. They always give us chance to improve ourselves and they're happy to help with any issues we have

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I've only been on the programme for 3 weeks last summer I will continue for the next 2 years, so far the structure has been ver organised and I have known my job role each and how to approach every situation due to the organisation of the company

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • I've received lots of training from the company and my manager in particular sends me emails checking up and giving me opportunities throughout the year. They keep us updated on what is happening regarding any aspect of our programme which keeps peace of mind.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive regular updates and emails from my employer and they help me even during the time I'm not on placement. My employer gives us flexi time and this is very helpful with different matters and enables us to have a life outside of work

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It meets my costs very well however I don't earn much after the internship due to having to pay for accommodation in london. Living in london is expensive so it is a greater expense than living at home during the summer so a salary is needed

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • there are opportunities to improve the programme and help to advertise the brand name. They have lots of social opportunities after work with fellow employees and the other interns. We also have a chance to play a sport for the company allowing us to feel more involved.

  • Yes

  • It's a very friendly company and I enjoy my time spent working here, It's a great place to meet friends and improve your job prospects for the future.The opportunities that they provide are in my opinion some of the best and not to be missed


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Don't be scared, everyone is very friendly and they want to help to improve you as a pepsi ad employee. If you secure a place on a scheme then don't be afraid to ask for help because thats what everyone is there for and they're happy to answer any questions you have.
