1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I work in external audit and therefore there is a lot of responsibility working with clients at their site and with senior audit staff to work through an audit from planning to reporting.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of new skills from my time at Deloitte including confidence in working with clients, technical knowledge and completed a lot of training in ethics.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme as it provides me with the opportunity to work with a lot of different people and to develop my technical knowledge. I work with a lot of supportive and friendly people on a daily basis.

4. How valued do you feel by Deloitte?

I feel valued by Deloitte in that there is a very structured appraisal process in which you receive regular feedback with many different rewards including meals, vouchers, bonuses and appraisal.

5. How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well structured. You are aware of the plan from the very first day for exams and work requirements. There are annual promotions and always a mentor to guide you through the programme.

6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?

The training provider offers full support and are always contactable throughout the programme to assist with any urgent queries or assistance with exam/tuition bookings.

6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive invaluable support from my employer for any issue that arises. There is always someone willing to help for technical knowledge, exam concern or any other issues.

7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?

The programme is extremely well paid. Also any expenses to client sites are expensed by the firm and therefore there is no issue with salary and income not meeting costs.

8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?

There are a lot of organised social groups within Deloitte that you can join and attend as advertised on the Deloitte intranet. Also each office organises their own annual events e.g. rounders'/cricket games, Christmas/summer balls.

The experience from Deloitte is invaluable and the support and structure of the course is more than necessary to get the most out of the opportunity.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?

Take your time with the application process, talk to others and try to attend insight days and information evenings so that you can get a clear idea of the requirements of the application and also of the job once you have joined.
