REGISTER: Work Ready Virtual Experience

With COVID-19 sweeping the nation, we wouldn’t blame you for being a little worried about its impact on your future career. 23% of businesses plan to cut their apprenticeship and school leaver opportunities.

But it’s not all bad news.

RateMyApprenticeship.co.uk has partnered with Forage and Development Beyond Learning (DBL) to design a Work Ready Virtual Experience for all school and college leavers.

So you can equip yourself with the soft skills you need to thrive in the workplace, from the comfort of your own bedroom.

What is the work ready virtual experience?

Our Work Ready Virtual Experience is a FREE, self-paced and virtual programme. Meaning you can easily fit it around your schedule. And don’t worry about submitting an application.

COVID-19 has been challenging enough. This opportunity’s on us.

Work-readiness skills help students to effectively integrate into the world of work. The skills you’ll pick up from the experience are in high-demand by employers. Research shows they’re also critical for success in the workplace, improving performance and results.

What can you expect?

Over the course of THREE jam-packed modules, you’ll develop the exact skills employers are crying out for; including resilience and networking.

As you work through the modules at your own pace, you’ll be able to compare your work with real model solutions created by the RateMyApprenticeship and DBL team.  Completing the programme will give you the confidence to take the world of work by storm.

#1 Wellbeing & resilience

The ability to bounce back has never been so important, both in and out of the workplace. This module is designed to help you...

  • Reframe your thinking and adopt methods that build your resilience.
  • Learn about positive mindsets and habits that will allow you to thrive and perform well.
  • Train your brain to operate better in, and respond better to challenging situations.

#2 Virtual first impressions

Making a good first impression can be the difference between being offered a job, and being rejected. As the current situation means you’re likely to meet most employers online first, this module is designed to help you…

  • Learn the importance of building a favourable personal brand for yourself.
  • Discover what it takes to create a memorable and positive first impression.
  • Find out how to get noticed and be heard, without dominating others in virtual settings.

#3 Virtual networking

Just hearing the word ‘networking’ is enough to make most of us cringe. However, it’s a crucial skill that will ensure you enjoy a long and fruitful career.

In our new virtual working world, how we network with others has changed altogether.

This module will help you navigate this change and…

  • Assist you in creating your own personal and online networking strategy.
  • Discover top tips for networking effectively in a virtual context.
  • Learn the benefits of networking and how to use your network to elevate your career.

Why should you complete the experience?

Employers ADORE work experience. In fact, it’s one of the main things they look for in candidates who are applying for apprenticeships.

Need another reason to complete the Work Ready Virtual Experience? Here’s six of them…

#1 Gain a certificate

Once you’ve completed the experience, you’ll receive a personalised, downloadable certificate that you can share with prospective employers to prove that you’ve taken the initiative to up-skill yourself.

#2 Increase your chances of success

The programme will help you familiarise yourself with, and build resilience to, everyday challenges faced in the workplace. You’ll be armed with all the skills and work-readiness tools that employers are looking for.

#3 Fit it around your schedule

You can complete the work experience in your own time, and at your own pace. There are no deadlines to meet and the course is designed to fit around your other commitments. In other words, you’re in charge!

#4 Make your CV and LinkedIn stand out

This virtual experience is quality-tested so will impress any employer. Add it to the ‘experience’ section of your CV and LinkedIn profile, highlighting the skills you’ve gained.

#5 Leverage your learnings in interviews

‘How did you use your free time during COVID-19?’ is likely to be a hot interview question in the future. And what better way to answer this than by dazzling your interviewer with all your new knowledge and learnings from the Work Ready Virtual Experience?
